How was everyone’s summer? There’s so much going on in the world right now, I hope you’re all managing to find little corners of light. The summer started off with a biggie for me. My youngest son graduated high school! What an emotional roller coaster, but I’m definitely a proud Mama.
My brother visited from the UK and we got to spend some quality family time on the Muskoka river.
We swam, tried our hand with various water vessels…
… gazed up at the Milky Way—I don’t think I’ve seen it since I lived in East Africa over thirty years ago—and when the mosquitos got too hungry, we went inside where I made several attempts at trying to convert the crew to TSITPers.
Speaking of which, Wednesdays have taken on a whole new meaning for me. Jenny Han, with her The Summer I Turned Pretty phenomenon, is a full blown genius.
I’m having almost as much fun with all the articles…
… Easter egg reels, episode reactions, and watch parties as I am the actual show.
There are some absolutely hilarious commentaries out there.

I’ve been reading too—I promise. I’m proud to say I stuck to my Summer Reading List. I didn’t get through everything on there. I have to admit, it was a little ambitious for a mind as distracted as mine. But I did get through at least half of it. My favourite summer read was probably this one, which has been described as ‘Lessons in Chemistry meets Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’.
Some good news → Despite not sending out a newsletter the whole summer long, I have been writing A LOT. In fact I’ve had an epic writing summer and finally got to experience what it’s like to have a book literally flow through you. On that note, I’m on the lookout for and rounding up Beta readers. So if you’re an avid upmarket women’s fiction reader, like complicated love stories, family drama and morally ambiguous characters—an added bonus if you’re a trumpet player—and would like to give it a go, please do get in touch.
And last but definitely NOT least. This weekend I’m…wait… hang on… I can hardly type it out for excitement… going to be in the same room as Paul Mescal! (yes, I did have to bold his name) Don’t worry, I’ll tell you all about it in the next newsletter.
Thank you for being my faithful readers. Have a wonderful September,
XO Ingrid
P.S. Has anyone else been following this delightful hot-chef in Paris love story?
Oh my god that Paul Mescal cliffhanger is killing me. I can't wait to hear more.
I loved the call out for Beta readers! Thank you for sharing your summer @ingridharingmendes
